Time has flown by, and the Day of the Dead activities in Mexico City have already begun! This Friday, September 25, “A Journey to Mictlán 2026” opens—an immersive experience that will take you through the nine levels of the underworld.
This Fantasy Lab experience is inspired by the Mexica worldview. The idea is to explore the journey souls take after death. Each room is filled with art, lighting, and technology that will immerse you in the levels of the underworld. Don’t forget to have your cell phone ready—you’ll be able to take plenty of photos at this event.
When can we visit A Journey to Mictlán in 2026?
You’ll have several weeks to visit this experience. It will be open from September 25 to November 8, 2026. As in previous years, you’ll find it on Level 2 of the Metrópoli Patriotismo plaza (Patriotismo 229, San Pedro de los Pinos, Benito Juárez district).
It will be open at various times: Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is $390 per person. It’s worth noting that the experience is suitable for both adults and children.
You can buy your tickets at the box office or online. In a press release, the organizers announced that the experience will feature renovated spaces in 2026, so you’ll encounter several surprises. Take advantage of the weekend to be among the first to attend.
