Do you already have plans to honor those who are no longer with us? Get ready, because the 2026 Feria de las Calacas in Chapultepec Forest is back to celebrate the Day of the Dead in one of the city’s most beautiful spots.
This cultural event promises a Saturday, October 31, packed with theater, dance, and music performances, as well as workshops for children and youth.
The event will take place at the Community Culture Pavilion, located at Constituyentes 270, Ampliación Daniel Garza, in the Second Section of Chapultepec Forest. Doors will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with free admission so the whole family can enjoy the event without spending a single peso.
The program kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with the Pinos Community Orchestra.
For the littlest ones in the family (ages 0 to 2 accompanied by an adult), join us at 11:30 a.m. at the Arrullos y Barullos space for “Arrullos del mar y otras ukucanciones para soñar” (Lullabies of the Sea and Other Songs to Dream By), an oral storytelling session with Ichi Cuenta Historias filled with songs, games, and tales of mermaids and jellyfish.
At 12:00 p.m., the exhibition by INBAL’s Arts Education Section will open, and there will also be an impressive offering-installation on display from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The afternoon continues with nothing but surprises. At 1:00 p.m. at the Foro Ombligo de la Luna, Mojiganga Arte Escénico will present the play *Noche de calacas* (for children ages 6 and up), in which the mischief of the Cloud Fairy will turn the universe upside down.
Later, at 2:00 p.m., Charly Vagamundos will lead the storytelling session *Nahuales y otros animales* to help you discover which spiritual protector has been with you since birth.
To cap off the day in style, at 3:00 p.m., the music of ¡Qué payasos! will set the stage ablaze with their show ¡Muertos de la risa!, where Nacho Mostacho and Beto Batuca will get everyone dancing.
Keep in mind that Chapultepec will also host a festival featuring drones and must-see performances to celebrate the traditions of the Day of the Dead. The highlight will be “Water Lantern,” a show in which floating lanterns will be lit on the Main Lake.
Feria de las Calacas at Cenart
It’s worth noting that Chapultepec Forest won’t be the only venue for the Feria de las Calacas; as with every edition, the event will also take place at Cenart on October 31 and November 1. The program at Cenart will include culinary offerings, cultural activities, and handicrafts. One of the highlights will be a performance by the band Gallo Negro.
If you’re looking for an unmissable, fun, and completely free event with activities designed for all ages, don’t miss the chance to attend the 2026 Feria de las Calacas at Chapultepec Forest or Cenart.
