Do you already know what you’ll be doing to celebrate these holidays? The Historic Center will host a Day of the Dead parade next Sunday, November 1. There will be catrines, catrinas, and plenty of music. Admission is free.
Mexico City’s Historic Center has organized a festival dedicated to the Day of the Dead, which will feature various activities, such as workshops, offerings, food, and even a nighttime bike ride. The event will conclude with a parade full of music and color.
Time, route, and date of the Day of the Dead parade in the Historic Center
This parade will take place on Sunday, November 1, at exactly 6:00 p.m. It will begin at the Historic Center Authority’s offices (on República de Argentina) and continue along República de Guatemala and Tacuba.
Along the route, you’ll see catrines, catrinas, music, and even a calenda. The parade will conclude at Plaza Manuel Tolsá, where musical performances will continue and you’ll see a catrina fashion show. The event is expected to end between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
But that’s not all. That same day, at 11:00 a.m., there will be a Xolo dog walk in the Historic Center. It will go from Plaza Seminario to El Rule, passing through Madero Street. Last year, nearly 100 dogs participated in this event.
It’s worth noting that this parade is not the one held every year in Mexico City. The Grand Day of the Dead Parade will take place on October 31 at 2:00 p.m. and will run from the Diana Cazadora statue to the Zócalo in Mexico City.
