There is already a date for the Alfeñique Fair 2025 in Toluca! In this edition you will discover an endless number of figures made with this technique. But that’s not all, because the program includes other activities, such as concerts and the presentation of the largest papel picado in the world.
This festival will be held from October 1 to November 4, 2025. The emblematic sugar figures are made by 84 families from Toluca, who preserve the tradition of alfeñique on the Day of the Dead.
Toluca authorities are seeking to obtain the denomination of origin for this technique!
You will be able to purchase skulls, coffins, calacas and other decorations for your ofrenda. There will also be cultural and recreational activities in different areas of Toluca.
These are the confirmed artists for the Alfeñique Fair 2025 in Toluca.
For now, Amanda Miguel, Gloria Trevi, Porter and Los Tucanes de Tijuana are the artists that will provide the best atmosphere during the fair. It should be noted that more guests will be announced each week. Some of the artistic events will take place at Mercado Juárez.
From October 17 to 19 there will be a space called “Pavilion of Nations” with 30 guest countries; you will discover more about their culture, gastronomy and identity. There will also be an alfeñique and dulce de pepita contest.
One of the most anticipated activities is the tour of the pantheon, which will feature a production that will give you goose bumps. These will take place on October 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.
On the other hand, on October 7, the world’s largest papel picado will be presented!
Finally, on October 10, the Museo del Alfeñique will reopen. This precinct is dedicated to spreading the tradition of alfeñique in Toluca, through eight renovated rooms and different activities.
