Let’s go on an adventure! To get out of the routine and dare to do something different we bring you some places where you can take a boat ride in CDMX. There are also trajineras and even kayaking. Shall we go?
1. Chapultepec
We can’t deny that it is a tradition to take a boat ride in Chapultepec. There are rowing boats that can hold up to five people, as well as pedal boats that can hold up to four people. If you go with your partner, we recommend the swan-shaped boat with room for two people. You must present an official ID to rent a boat.
📅Tuesday to Sunday
🕛The first section of the forest is open from 05:00 to 18:00.
🎟️De $70 to $180 per hour depending on the boat.
📍First section of Chapultepec Forest
2. Ecological Park of Xochimilco
This park has several attractions, including a ride on a pedal boat (for two people) or on a trajinera. In both options you can see up close the vegetation in this area of Mexico City and tour the park in a different way.
📅Tuesday to Sunday
🕛The park is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
🎟️Renta boat tours from $40 per person
📍Xochimilco Ecological Park (Anillo Periférico 1, colonia Ciénega Grande, alcaldía Xochimilco)
3. Lake of the Aztec Kings
Not only in Xochimilco can you travel by trajinera, you can also do it in this lake in Mexico City. It is a very special place because, according to the Tláhuac mayor’s office, this is the last vestige of what was the Valley of Mexico in pre-Hispanic times. Come and visit it.
📅Monday to Sunday
📍Gabriel Hernández 16, La Guadalupe, Tláhuac municipality.
4. Kayaking in Xochimilco
It’s not a boat ride in CDMX but a kayak ride. Here you will be taken to explore the canals of Xochimilco. We highly recommend going at sunrise or sunset; you’ll encounter incredible scenery.
📅You can schedule your visit through social networks.
🕛Various schedules
🎟️Desde $250 per person
Another unmissable plan in Xochimilco are the traditional trajineras. These cost $600 per hour. You can bring your own food or buy Mexican snacks in the area.
