Discover Cuitláhuac Park
From Iztapalapa for the world. For 55 years this site was an open dump. It later became a park. The second stage of its rehabilitation was completed in 2021. It currently has an artificial lake, located almost in the center of the enclosure.
You can stroll around its surroundings and rest on the shore after having fun in the place, which has sports and recreational areas.

Take a walk through the Fuentes Brotantes Park in Tlalpan
This is an excellent option to spend the day outdoors. You can even invite your pet, as the park is pet friendly (just remember to always keep it on a leash). It has a lake inhabited by many animals, which you can see with the naked eye.
And while you’re in the Zone, you can visit the encanto stone one of the most popular legends of the Zone.

Replica of the Texcoco Lake in Tezozomoc Park
The lake at this site has an interesting history behind it. According to authorities of the Azcapotzalco municipality, it is a scale reproduction of Lake Texcoco, even in the center you can see the scene of the eagle devouring a snake.
This park has an area of 27 hectares and offers services such as bicycle rentals.

Take a stroll in Bicentennial Park
Here you will find many green areas including a chinampa and a huge lake, which covers more than four hectares. Currently you can see on its banks, several Mexicraneans. You will take amazing pictures.

Duck lake in Desierto de los Leones
The Desierto de los Leones not only has as an attraction the ex-convent and the old hermitages, but also a small body of water called Lago de Los Patos, as well as streams and small waterfalls.
Because of its size, it is easy to admire the entire lake and stroll along its shores. On the side there is space to picnic or play with family and friends.

Stroll in chinampas at the Lake of the Aztec Kings
did you think you could only ride trajineras in Xochimilco? You can do it here too! It is said that this lake is the last vestige of what was the Valley of Mexico in pre-Hispanic times.
You can tour it in a traditional trajinera. You will see many animals such as geese and even pelicans. On weekends there is a tianguis where products harvested from the lake’s chinampas are sold.

This park has a lake where you will not only be able to take amazing pictures. In the center there is an amphitheater where cultural and artistic shows are presented from time to time. Be sure to visit all its areas.

Aragon Forest
This is one of the classic lakes in CDMX. You can watch amazing sunrises and sunsets on the shores of the lake, as well as see different animals such as osprey and blue heron. According to the Secretary of the Environment of the CDMX, 182 different species of birds were observed in 2021.

Have fun in the Xochimilco Ecological Park
Its facilities include the Huetzalin Lake, as well as two wetlands. One of the best places to see this site in all its splendor is the park’s lookout point.

Chapultepec
Chapultepec could not be missing in this count of lakes in CDMX that you must visit. The first section is the best known; there you can take a boat ride or sit on the shore and admire the scenery. In fact, there is a bookstore in the forest, whose cafeteria offers an incredible view of this lake.
