The first weekend of October kicks off with a host of seasonal activities! Among them is the Cultural Bazaar, which is hosting a special Day of the Dead celebration in the Historic Center; it’s an event where the scent of marigolds and pan de muerto will envelop your entire visit.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 3, at Plaza de Regina.
The program of activities will begin at 12:00 p.m. with themed workshops. Please note that space is limited, so arrive early to learn how to make pan de muerto using EVA foam, a cempasúchil flower made from tissue paper, or a rustic pumpkin made from ixtle.
But that’s not all—music and dance will also be part of the festivities: At 2:00 p.m. sharp, you can enjoy live music by Trío Coyomeh, who will have us tapping our feet to the best Huasteco son.
Later, at 3:30 p.m., the group Culturalmente will take the stage to dazzle us with a dance performance.
Mark your calendar and add the Historic Center’s Day of the Dead Cultural Bazaar to your monthly schedule.
