Spending Day of the Dead in Atlixco, Puebla, is one of the experiences you must live at least once. Not only will you see the already famous Valley of the Catrinas, but also other types of events and traditions typical of the season.
This magical town is located just two hours from Mexico City. Every year it is filled with color and tradition to celebrate the Day of the Dead. For this year 2025 there are already at least two confirmed activities. Keep an eye on them and start preparing your getaway.
This is how Day of the Dead 2025 will be celebrated in Atlixco, Puebla.

Let’s start with the Valley of the Catrinas in Atlixco, which already has a date. It will be held from October 3 to November 4 and will feature 22 monumental figures. 14 of them will be in the magical town, while the others will be exhibited in different parts of the world.
These catrinas are monumental in size, as each one measures between 5 and 8 meters in height. We recommend you to prepare your camera or cell phone because you will surely take many pictures. You will have a month to visit them.
But that’s not all. On the other hand, this year we will also have Catrinia, a Day of the Dead themed parade.
On weekends from October 3 to November 2 this parade will be held at the Convention Center in Atlixco, Puebla. You will see catrinas, alebrijes and floats. There will be other attractions such as a gastronomic area with pan de muerto and a rotating tunnel.
The cost of admission to Catrinia ranges from $400 to $800. Each ticket includes different attractions.
