If you’re organizing your Day of the Dead agenda, don’t forget to contemplate a visit to the ofrenda at Bellas Artes. This is the work of the eight workshops of the Escuela de ArtesanÃas, so you can expect pieces elaborated with different techniques.
The main piece of this offering is called “The Orchestra” and shows an opera singer in the middle of a musical orchestra with nine ceramic skeletons. These elements were made with the raku yaki pottery technique.
Also, you will see pieces inspired by the six masks located on the façade of the precinct. For this, different techniques were used, such as wood carving, textile, vitromosaic work, fabric printing, among others. The masks have half of their faces torn to represent the duality of life and death.
The inauguration of the offering at Bellas Artes is Wednesday, October 30 and will remain in the lobby until November 6, 2024. Access to it is free; remember that the opening hours of this venue are 🕛 Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 and Sunday from 8:00 to 18:00.
This altar adds to the list of the best ofrendas in CDMX. Make a tour and don’t miss any of them.
