The Government of the CDMX, through the local Secretariat of Culture, will celebrate LGBT+ Pride Month in June with more than 60 cultural activities. This will be Diversx Universx!
Theater, music, dance, film festivals, cabaret, literary, drag shows, photo exhibitions, discussions and workshops will be held in different cultural venues with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of respect, the struggle for rights and recognition of sexual diversity.
This meeting is called Diversx Universx 2.0 and will take place within the framework of the World Day for Sexual Diversity, which is commemorated every June 25.
The participating venues? The Photography Archive Museum, the Benito Juárez Theater, the A Poco No Forum, the Gandhi Open Gallery at the Rejas de Chapultepec, the Sergio Magaña Theater, the Esperanza Iris Theater, the José Martí, El Rule and La Pirámide Cultural Centers, as well as the Tecómitl, Cosmos and Aragón Lighthouses.
What will be in Diversx Universx 2.0?
You can enjoy the 4th CDMX Rose Theater Festival from June 12 to 23 where you can enjoy performances by national and international groups and companies.
Throughout the month, at 4:30 p.m., you can enjoy the screening of different LGBTQ+ themed films such as La Vida de Adelé, Filadelfia, Quebranto and more.
From June 1 to July 6 will be held the 8th cycle Entre lenchas, vestidas y musculocas, organized by the Directorate of the System of Theaters of the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City formed by a range of proposals that address the issues affecting the community LGBTQ +.
Sixteen shows will be presented on stages at Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, Foro A Poco No, Teatro Benito Juárez, Teatro Sergio Magaña and Teatro del Pueblo.
Don’t miss the 28th Mix Mexico Festival, which shows a series of films on sexual diversity at the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris.
The 37th International Festival for Sexual Diversity will take place at the Xavier Villaurrutia Cultural Center and you will be able to see the work of 13 artists.
On Wednesday 26th at 4:00 p.m., a health day will be held at the same venue where free HIV tests will be performed.
