Day of the Dead is just around the corner! One of the traditional events of this time of the year is the Festival de Ofrendas y Catrinas in the Historic Center, where businesses and properties in the area use their imagination to create incredible decorations.
It is expected that this 2025 more than 200 ofrendas will be installed throughout the Historic Center. In addition, there will be an activity called Catrina Fest, which consists of a modeling runway where young people will parade characterized as catrinas (more details will be announced later).
When is the Festival de Ofrendas y Catrinas in the Historic Center?

This year the festival will last almost a week. It will take place from October 28 to November 3. During all those days you will be able to see the ofrendas that will be installed in different properties of the Historic Center.
The theme of the offerings will be about the 700 years of the foundation of the Great Tenochtitlan. The event will be open to the participation of residents of the Historic Center, collectives, museums, cultural centers, public and private agencies, businesses and other properties in this area of the city. Those who wish to participate must register on the Historic Downtown Authority’s website from October 6 to 25; registration is free of charge.
All of the ofrendas can be found in the perimeters A and B of the Historic Center of the CDMX. Grab your most comfortable shoes and take a walk through the Centro while admiring the colorful and traditional ofrendas.
It is worth mentioning that the monumental ofrenda in the Zócalo will also have a theme referring to the 700 years of Mexico Tenochtitlan. You can visit it from October 25 to November 2.
