
The season of luminous insects is here! If you want to learn more about fireflies, join the festival that the National Biodiversity Pavilion of the UNAM has prepared.
The event will take place next Saturday, June 21 from 11:00 to 15:00. Not only will you learn curiosities about these brilliant insects, you will also immerse yourself in their habitat and ways to conserve them.
Activities at the UNAM firefly festival
In the multimedia room there will be talks with specialists in various disciplines. The participation of astronomer Julieta N. Fierro with her talk called Mesoamerican Astronomy stands out.
On the second floor you will find a lot of workshops: colorful insects, lottery, creation and painting of fireflies and more.
Also, the exhibitions: Live Insects, Meet the Stick Insects, Photo Exhibition and Entomological Boxes.
It should be noted that some of the activities have limited capacity, so you will need to register in advance. The recommendation is that you anticipate your arrival.
If you don’t have the chance to join one of the sighting tours, this UNAM festival will be a great option to enjoy the firefly season 2025.
