Imagine walking among kilometers of colorful carpets, while the festivities and warmth of this “Magical Town” envelop you—all under the moonlight. This isn’t a romance novel—it’s the Huamantla Fair, which is already gearing up for 2026 with several music concerts and, of course, its monumental sawdust carpets.
For one month (July 31 through August 31), you can take part in a program that includes the Dahlia Parade, the world’s largest bullfight, and the iconic “Night When No One Sleeps.”
Here’s a breakdown of each activity with its scheduled date so you can plan your itinerary.
Huamantla Fair 2026 Concerts
The concerts will take place at the Foro Latido in Huamantla, with ticket prices ranging from $200 to $1,000. The dates are as follows:

* The Paella Festival is a culinary experience that will be paired with music by Juanes and Tren a Marte. Tickets for this event cost $2,000, $2,500, and $3,000.
Dahlia Parade
On Sunday, August 9, this iconic parade will take place, featuring floats, dance and musical groups, processions, mojigangas, and traditional local characters.
The Night Nobody Sleeps
This is one of Huamantla’s most popular traditions, thanks to its significance and visual beauty. What is it all about? For an entire night, carpets made of colored sawdust, flowers, candies, and seeds are on display; this carpet stretches for about seven kilometers and adorns the path of the Virgin of Charity during her procession.
The procession begins at the Basilica of Our Lady of Charity and passes by other churches, neighborhoods, and main avenues. This route lasts up to nine hours and is accompanied by music and singing. “The Night No One Sleeps” will take place on August 14.
It’s worth noting that these beautiful rugs are considered ephemeral works of art, crafted by master rug makers and local families. It’s undoubtedly a magical event you have to experience at least once in your life!
Huamantlada
This bull-running event is recognized as the largest in the world, with bulls racing along a set course while spectators watch from designated viewing areas. Please note: Although it’s a tradition, this activity is high-risk, so your attendance and entry into the course are at your own risk. The Huamantlada will take place on August 22 at 10:00 a.m.
