Let’s listen to classical music in the Historic Center this weekend! Enjoy a concert with music by Mozart in Mexico City’s Zócalo. Beethoven’s music will also be performed.
As part of the Chess Festival and the program Cuícatl: the city that sounds, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the CDMX will offer two free concerts in Mexico City’s Zócalo. In each one, different themes will be performed. Write down the details so you don’t miss them.
What time will the concert with Mozart’s music be at the CDMX’s Zócalo?

The first concert will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 20. During this presentation, pieces by Malcolm Arnold, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Juventino Rosas will be performed. One of the pieces you will hear is the Waltz on the Waves.
The second concert in the Zócalo will start at 1:30 pm. Selections from West Side Story, The Wedding of Luis Alonso and many more pieces will be performed. Both concerts will be open air and free of charge.
As we told you, these performances are part of the Chess Festival in the Zócalo. Starting at 10:00 a.m. on July 20 you will see giant chess boards, exhibitions and more activities related to the game.
And while you’re in the Historic Center you can stay to see the monumental sculptures in the Zócalo, as well as the videomapping show, which takes place at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm every day. The last day to see it will be Sunday, July 27.
Each show lasts about an hour. The history of Mexico City is projected in the National Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Shall we go?
