Little by little, more details have been revealed about the 2026 Night of the Stars, an astronomy-focused event that, every year since 2009, has offered various activities, such as telescope observations and planetarium displays.
Each year’s event features a main venue, as well as other venues in different states across the country. Activities are held at all of them. Additionally, the event’s theme changes every year.
In 2026, several milestones will be celebrated, such as the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France and the 75th anniversary of the discovery of the 21-cm hydrogen radiation, for example.
Ciudad Universitaria will host the 2026 Night of the Stars
On its official social media accounts, the UNAM Institute of Astronomy shared a call for participation for this event. The document specified that one of the venues for the 2026 event will be Las Islas in Ciudad Universitaria.
As we mentioned, the event will last just one day: it will take place on Saturday, November 14, at various venues, which will be announced at a later date.
