If you thought the Island of the Dolls was already creepy enough, wait until you hear about this nighttime event in Xochimilco. The Noctambulante Horror and Fantasy Film Festival will host a horror camp with movie screenings throughout the night in one of the most spine-chilling spots in Mexico City.
The event will take place on the night of May 30, 2026, and will feature psychological horror, folk horror, dark fantasy, and cult films amidst the canals of Xochimilco. The experience will begin at 7:00 p.m. and is designed as a cinematic vigil for those who love disturbing stories and supernatural atmospheres.
There will be horror movies all night long
The lineup will include iconic and contemporary horror titles such as The Babadook by Jennifer Kent; Men by Alex Garland; The Witches of Zugarramurdi by Álex de la Iglesia; and Baskin, one of the most extreme horror films in recent Turkish cinema. Also screening will be VIY, a Soviet classic inspired by Nikolai Gogol, as well as Heresy (Witte Wieven), a folk horror film set in the Middle Ages.
The idea behind Horror Film Camp is to transform cinema into an immersive experience where fear is felt amidst nature, darkness, and legends. According to the Noctambulante Festival, the event aims to create an atmosphere where horror isn’t just seen on screen, but lingers throughout the night.
How much will tickets for the horror camp cost?
General admission will cost $350 pesos in advance and $700 pesos on the day of the event. There will also be double passes and family packages available.
