The mysticism and traditions of the Day of the Dead will be celebrated with legends, celestial shows, and even a witch hunt! Switch to “Catrina” mode because the Calaveras and Balloons Night Walk — organized by the Hotel Hacienda de Los Dolores in the Magical Town of Tepotzotlán — is about to begin.
On October 31, at Arcos del Sitio State Park, the “dog-friendly edition” of this event will take place. Yes, that means your dog is invited, too!
This event features a jam-packed program with a hot-air balloon display, stories and legends, live mariachi music, cantoya balloons, a costume contest, a search for little skulls and bones, a witch hunt, a tour of the iconic Arcos del Sitio, pan de muerto and hot chocolate, and a pumpkin carving workshop.
How much does it cost?
There are several packages available, ranging from the Hike Combo (if you’d rather just attend the event) to camping or hotel accommodations.
The Hiking Combo (without lodging) costs $1,500 for two people and one dog. Children ages 5 to 10 pay $400, while admission is free for children under 5.
If you want to enjoy the full experience, you can choose packages that include lodging and a hot-air balloon ride. Options range from camping for $3,300 for two people (you must bring your own camping gear), a hostel for $4,900, a suite for $5,900, and a master suite for $6,300; the latter three options accommodate two people and one dog.
It’s worth noting that all packages with lodging include a hot-air balloon ride, a relaxing massage, wine tasting, breakfast at the hotel (drinks not included), an artisanal bread-making workshop, and a tour of the nurseries—in addition to all the activities mentioned in the package without lodging.
A great perk is that you can reserve your spot with just a 50% deposit and pay the rest on the day of the event.
Please note that registration takes place at the Hotel Hacienda Los Dolores, but all activities will be held at Arcos del Sitio State Park.
