Whether in a hot cup, in a bar or in desserts, few can resist tasty chocolate. Regardless of its presentation, as soon as it reaches the palate, it offers a delicious paradise of flavors. But besides being delicious, it is also a food that hides great stories and a lot of science; to learn more about these aspects, the exhibition “Science with a taste of chocolate” is coming to CU.
In this exhibition, knowledge and sweetness will be combined to learn that chocolate not only has irresistible aromas and textures, but it also holds surprising facts.
When and where can you visit the exhibition “Science with Chocolate Flavor” at CU?
Have you ever imagined that behind a bite of chocolate there is history and science? The exhibition “Science with Chocolate Flavor” at Universum, inside Ciudad Universitaria, shows through an entertaining tour how the cocoa bean has centuries of history and biochemical processes that make it a beneficial ingredient for health.
This exhibition invites the public to look at chocolate from another perspective to learn about the tradition and scientific data that make it one of the most important foods for Mexico since pre-Hispanic times.
At the end of the exhibition, you will not only learn the secrets behind this sweet treat, but you will also be able to identify the traits that determine a good chocolate.
The best part is that you will learn by playing! As part of the guided tours you will be able to participate in the game “Search for the gift of the gods”, which consists of discovering some indispensable clues to the chocolate creation process. You can find this activity from Wednesday to Friday at 11:00 a.m. and it will be open until December 26.
And if you are a true chocolate lover, there is also a practical workshop for you to prepare one with your own hands that will be from Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 14:00 and costs $35 per person.
You can visit the temporary exhibition, which will be open until January 6, 2026, with your general admission ticket to Universum ( $90) during museum hours, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00 hours.
