At the beginning of 2024, the remodeling of what used to be the Foro Sol began and rumors started that it would also change its name to give it a 100% new image.
Now, through a press release, OCESA announced the new official name of the venue that has hosted historic shows in the CDMX, and will now be called: GNP Seguros Stadium.
The venue’s social networks have been set up and a new post confirming the news has also been shared, with the caption:

When will the GNP Stadium open its doors?
The GNP Seguros Stadium will open its doors for the first time on August 10, 2024 with a special show to be announced soon.
However, there are already several concerts scheduled to take place at the venue such as Natanael Cano, Caifanes, Eric Clapton, The Killers, Blink 182 los Fabulosos Cadillacs and more.
what will be in this remodeled venue? It will now have a capacity for 65,000 people and will offer more comfortable seats. It will also have new food and beverage spaces, as well as hospitality zones for the general public.
Now the GNP Seguros Stadium will have more than 280 state-of-the-art screens for a better view of the shows. It will improve the lighting inside and around the site for greater visibility and safety.
The best thing is Panoramic elevators and spaces with improved accessibility for people in need will be installed.
More about the former Foro Sol
The Foro Sol was built in 1993 to host musical concerts, although it was also used as a baseball stadium, being the home of the Diablos Rojos de México.
This site is located at Av. Viaducto Rio de la Piedad and Rio Churubusco, in the Iztacalco district, has hosted historic concerts and festivals in the CDMX.
