If you love books, mark these dates on your calendar because one of the most anticipated literary events of the year in Mexico City has been confirmed. The 2026 Book and Rose Festival will return with a new edition full of cultural activities, readings, and meet-and-greets with authors.
This event, organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico, will take place from April 23 to 26 at the University Cultural Center, in addition to several alternate venues throughout the city.
As every year, the festival takes place as part of World Book and Copyright Day, so the program typically includes a wide variety of activities designed for all audiences.
A must-see event for book lovers

Although the full program has not yet been revealed, this event typically features book presentations, readings, workshops, talks, book signings, and artistic activities. It is also a great opportunity to discover new literary works and browse the booths of independent publishers.
One of the festival’s main attractions is its atmosphere: families, students, and readers gather in one place to celebrate literature in an accessible and festive way. Additionally, many of its activities are often free or low-cost, making it an ideal outing to plan with friends or on your own.
If you’ve attended in previous years, you know that the atmosphere at Ciudad Universitaria during these days is unique. And if not, this could be the perfect opportunity to check it out.
