Tim Burton, The Labyrinth is a new exhibition dedicated to the world, and the fantastic creations of the filmmaker – it’s like entering his twisted and magical mind! In addition to sensational pieces, you will discover some curious facts, such as who is the character that Tim Burton invented when he was in high school.
It’s Edward, better known as Young Scissorhands! Let’s remember that monsters and hallucinatory creatures are constantly on Burton’s mind. In fact, he felt identified with the beasts in the movies; many times mistaken for evil beings due to their appearance.
So it was that, while he was in high school, he drew monstrous-looking characters. On several occasions, he drew the figure of a man who had scissors instead of hands. Years later, these sketches became the precursors of The Young Scissorhands or Edward Scissorhands.
This movie was released in 1990 and stars Johnny Depp himself, who plays the character of Edward. The story is about a boy created by an inventor. However, he dies and he becomes an uncomfortable guest for the Boggs family, and a tender and touching love story unfolds during his stay!
