This Wednesday, October 29, a mega blockade of transportation companies is planned in different areas of the CDMX and the State of Mexico.
The reason for this mobilization is to demand an increase in public transportation fares, explained Francisco Carrasco, spokesman for the Fuerza Amplia de Transportistas (FAT) in an interview for Radio Fórmula.
Mexico City carriers want prices to be equal or equivalent to those of the State of Mexico, in addition to a fuel bonus.
Let’s remember that a few days ago, in all the municipalities of the State of Mexico, the cost of collective transportation increased $2, so that now the minimum fare is $14.
So far the demonstration is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. and will affect several roads such as:
- Mexico-Pachuca, Mexico-Cuernavaca, Mexico-Puebla and Mexico-Queretaro highways.
- Paseo de la Reforma
- Tlalpan Causeway
- Ignacio Zaragoza Highway
- Circuito Interior
- Insurgentes Avenue
- Indios Verdes
- Observatorio
- Tasqueña
There will be dialogue with the authorities
Francisco Carrasco explained to this media that this Tuesday, October 28 at 4:00 p.m., the leaders of the Fuerza Amplia de Transportistas movement will meet with authorities of the Mexico City government at the Monumento a la Revolución to determine the situation.
On September 1, the Fuerza Amplia de Transportistas cancelled a massive demonstration, as it reached an agreement with the corresponding authorities.
However, Francisco Carrasco said that the agreements reached on that occasion were not complied with. So far, the mega blockade of this Wednesday remains in place.
Take precautions and stay tuned for the ruling on the October 29th transporters’ blockade!
