The plan to commemorate Fossil Day at the Universum has already been put together! This museum has prepared several activities for the kids. They will see fossils, learn more about dinosaurs and have fun imitating the movements and sounds of different animals.
The museum’s website explains that this date highlights the role that fossils play in the mission of understanding our past. They not only have to do with dinosaurs, but also with evolution.
What activities will there be to celebrate Fossil Day at the Universum?
The first thing you need to know is that the activities will not only last one day. The event will take place from October 16 to 19. That’s right! You will have the whole weekend to go and have the most fun.
Among the activities you’ll find is a workshop in which children will make a replica of a prehistoric animal called a trilobite, which existed long before the dinosaurs themselves.
There will also be a thematic tour in the Evolution room, as well as a workshop in which they will paint a replica of a baby dinosaur. Most of the activities are included with the museum admission ticket.
Of course, all activities have limited capacity and are for certain ages. Here is the complete program so you can see the activities and the requirements to participate.
The Universum is located at Circuito Cultural de Ciudad Universitaria S/N, Ciudad Universitaria, Coyoacán. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 hours and the entrance fee is $90. Children, teachers, students, UNAM employees, seniors and alumni pay only $80.
