A blanket of roses covers the stage and a powerful guitar strumming breaks the silence. Hand clapping resounds like a rhythmic beat, while the cantaor’s voice fills the air and the bailaora, with her tailed gown and a carnation in her hair, displays her art with movements full of elegance. This is “We call it Flamenco” CDMX, a beautiful show full of passion and history to celebrate Spain’s most recognized artistic expression.
With professional dancers, live music and lots of magic, this experience will envelop you in the spell of flamenco. The CC Mexiquense Anahuac will be the stage for this unique event, where every detail -from the ballroom shoes to the echo of each heel- will captivate your senses. Secure your place in this unrepeatable evening and let the Andalusian duende conquer you.
What is “We call it Flamenco”?
It is an immersive experience born with the purpose of paying tribute to the most famous Spanish music and dance in the world: Flamenco. It will do so through four acts and many palos (different musical forms of flamenco) interpreted by a Spanish guitar and a flamenco singer. All under the presence of hundreds of red roses that will merge with the movements of the dancer‘s splendid costume and shawl.
Flamenco, its palos and the show
It is impossible to talk about flamenco without talking about its “palos” (styles). There are more than 50 of them and each one uses its own rhythm and structure to capture the most intimate feelings: from anger and loneliness, to joy and pain. With “We call it Flamenco” you will discover six of these variations – such as bulería, fandango or soleá – and you will be part of the mythical “jaleo” clapping and cheering the artists. Olé, olé and olé!
