1. Calacas Fair at Cenart
If you are looking for options to celebrate Day of the Dead with the kids, this is a good alternative. There will be activities for everyone, including babies, boys, girls, teenagers and adults. You will enjoy food, music, workshops, oral narrations and ofrendas. The fair will only last two days, so don’t miss it.

2. Festival of Offerings and Floral Arrangements in the Historic Center
Offerings are a fundamental part of Day of the Dead, which is why a festival dedicated to them was prepared. Businesses, restaurants and other properties in the Historic Center will install various ofrendas (last year there were more than 100) which you can see while strolling in the area.

3. Pan de muerto and chocolate festival at the Palacio de Autonomía.
We can’t let this season pass without enjoying pan de muerto. In this event they will offer a great variety of bread: Oaxacan with totomoxtle, chocolate or filled with strawberry, cajeta, whipped cream and more. Hot chocolate will not be missing; there will also be a bazaar of handicrafts.

4. Cempasúchil Flower Festival in Reforma
Do you already have everything you need for your ofrenda? Here you can find it! This is a festival that sells cempasúchil flowers, all kinds of plants and even ornaments related to the Day of the Dead. It is important to mention that all the plants come from conservation soil of the CDMX.

5. Cempasúchil Cultural and Gastronomic Festival at GAM.
Let’s celebrate Day of the Dead in Gustavo A. Madero. This municipality will throw the house out the window and offer a unique festival. You will see everything: skull parade, monumental ofrenda and crafts. There will also be tours of legends, pan de muerto, live music and gastronomic area.

6. Day of the Dead Festival in Xochimilco Ecological Park.
Here there will be everything and when we say EVERYTHING we are not exaggerating. For three days you will enjoy outdoor cinema, workshops, night race and more activities. On Friday, October 27, the movie Coco will be screened from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in front of the Chinampaxóchitl Museum (it is recommended to bring a mat to be comfortable) while on Saturday, October 28 there will be a 5 kilometer night race ( here we leave the info for you to register). These are just some of the activities. There will be many surprises for the attendees.

7. Nezamictlán Festival in Nezahualcóyotl
This event is not in Mexico City but very close: in Nezahualcóyotl. There will be activities in different parts of the municipality; for example: from October 29 to November 1 there will be a Caravan of Catrinas and Catrines in different areas; while from November 1 to 5 you can visit the House of Terror in the Parque del Pueblo. The festival will end on November 11 with the March of Monsters and Zombies.

📍Municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México
8. Festival of the Catrinas in Huixquilucan
This event is also in the State of Mexico. On October 25 and 26 there will be ofrendas in the municipal esplanade, while on October 27 you will enjoy a concert by the Municipal Chamber Orchestra. Within this festival there will be another one related to pan de muerto, which will be held on October 29 from 11:00 to 15:00 at the municipal esplanade.

9. Cultural Festival of the Blessed Souls
This is one of the Day of the Dead festivals in CDMX that you can’t miss, it will be huge and will feature the state of Oaxaca! Everything will happen mainly at the Plaza Cívica Benito Juárez in San Bartolomé Xicomulco. There will be acrobatics, workshops, music, student bands and even presentations about the Guelaguetza. 10. International Festival of the Day of the Dead in Tláhuac
Let’s close this list of Day of the Dead festivals in CDMX with a flourish. The 2023 edition of FIDDEM will have many activities, such as monumental catrinas and concerts by Salón Victoria, Tex Tex and Los Ángeles Negros.
