The most magical and illuminated moment of the year has begun: firefly season 2024! Get ready for the trip, because in Tlaxcala there are sanctuaries where you can join the firefly watching. Don’t miss this spectacle that nature offers us once a year.
1. Rancho Buenavista
One of the must-see places for firefly watching in Tlaxcala is Rancho Buenavista. From 🗓️ June 14 to August 10, 2024 you will have the opportunity to see these magical beings.
There are not only guided tours, but also other services such as lodging, breakfasts and even tasting of pulque and corn. The cost depends on the services you want to add to the experience.
If you attend Monday through Thursday the price of the sighting is 💵 $320 per adult; $275 for children 2 to 6 years old and $290 for children 6 to 10 years old. From Friday to Sunday, admission is $380; children from 2 to 6 years old pay $330 and $350 from 6 to 10 years old. 2. Forest Song
Get ready for a journey full of brightness and throw yourself into Canto del Bosque. Here you will hiking to meet fireflies that illuminate nature. The tour has a cost of 💵 $400 per person; it starts at 🕛 18:30 although you must show up at 17:30.
A specialized guide will tell you more about these insects; the activity ends at 21:00. If you prefer, you can spend the night at the camp, at the cabins or the glamping. Please note that pets are not allowed.

3. Magic Forest
This sanctuary is located in the ecological Zone of Nanacamilpa, Tlaxcala, specifically in the Espolón de la Sierra Nevada region. From 🗓️ July 20 to August 10 an expert guide will take you to know these luminous insects and some particularities about them.
They offer various packages and services such as lodging, camp and up to pulque route. The price depends on the activities you choose, but firefly watching costs 💵 $300 Sunday through Wednesday and $350 Thursday through Saturday. In addition to the guided tour, it includes bread and coffee.
