Who said you can’t camp in CDMX? Grab warm clothes and your tent because we are going on an adventure without leaving Mexico City.
It may not look like it, but the city has extensive green areas and national parks where you can hike, hike, hike, hike, hike, hike, hike, hike picnic to have contact with nature and even camping. Here are five.
1. Ejidal Park San Nicolas Totolapan
This park has everything you need to set up an unforgettable camp. It has a Zone for bonfires and restrooms, rotisseries and surveillance. You can camp any day of the year, as the camping area is always available. The cost is $200 per person. If you need firewood it is worth $110 per wheelbarrow.
Reservations are not required; however, access to the Zone is available until 7:00 p.m. maximum. In this park you can also do other activities such as zip-lining, biking and hiking, among others. Here we leave you their website.

2. Los Dinamos
A classic of classics. Here there are two options to spend the night, you can go to the camping area or stay in some of the cabins they rent. You will also find a variety of attractions including zip lines, horseback riding and ATVs.

3. San Bernabé Ocotepec Tourist Park
This is a space where you will enjoy nature to the fullest. You will find a spectacular view from its viewpoint. They also have a venadarium, children’s playground, rock climbing and, of course, a camping area.

4. Environmental Culture Centers with bats
how about a camp with bat watching? The Yautlica Environmental Culture Center organizes a monthly theme camp where you can go on night tours and see unexpected neighbors like these little animals. You will learn a lot.

5. La Gran Palapa
This is an ecotourism park located in Milpa Alta. In addition to camping, you will enjoy green areas, temazcal, typical dishes and more. There are even children’s games. It is a must-see site during firefly season. You can contact them at (55) 5844 1157.
