San Andrés Mixquic is known for being one of the most wonderful places to celebrate the Day of the Dead with its traditional illumination of the cemetery that has a magical atmosphere.
But in addition to the important festivities of the time of the dead, it is also one of the original towns of the capital that preserves a lot of history and, to enjoy it, there will be a free night race on October 10.
This is the first edition of the “Territories of Peace and Equality” race. The start and finish line of this sporting adventure will be in front of the town’s kiosk.
The route includes areas such as the shore of the Embarcadero Mixquic and the edge of the famous pantheon that is an icon of the place on the Day of the Dead.
There are three categories for you to register: adults and youth (over 13 years old) with a 5 kilometer distance, and 100 meters for children from 6 to 9 years old and 10 to 12 years old.
The adult race will start at 7:00 pm and the children’s categories will start at 6:00 pm. Runner numbers will be issued on the day of the event starting at 17:00.
The event is at night, so it will highlight the illuminated streets of Mixquic so you can appreciate the nooks and crannies of the town under the starry sky.
The best part? There is no cost. All you have to do is register at marcate.com.mx or www.indeporte.cdmx.gob.mx to be part of this race that will combine sport and tradition.
