Let the kids know! This weekend they can go ice skating at the rink in the Zócalo. Check out the hours and everything you need to know. Admission is free.
To celebrate Children’s Day, the Zocalito de las Infancias will take place. From April 24 to 26, there will be all kinds of activities in the Zócalo, including a circus, balloons, a dinosaur exhibit, concerts, and even an ice rink.
There will also be areas where children can participate in workshops, play mini-golf, jump, and more. It’s worth noting that at night, you’ll be able to see illuminated figures. There will be activities throughout the day.
Ice Rink Hours at the Zócalo: Installed for Children’s Day
The ice rink will be open from April 24 to 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., according to information posted on-site. Groups of up to 40 people will be admitted every 20 minutes.
The rink is 400 meters long and made of a material that simulates ice. Skates and support sleds will be provided right there, so don’t worry if you don’t know how to skate. It’s worth noting that the only entrance to the rink is via Pino Suárez Street.
The ice rink and other activities are covered; however, we recommend taking certain precautions because from April 25 to 30, Mexico City will experience a heat wave, with temperatures potentially reaching up to 32 degrees.
If you’re going to any outdoor event, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat or cap, and be sure to stay well-hydrated.
