October is coming! Do you know what that means? That’s right: we are very close to the return of La Llorona’s show to Xochimilco. There’s already a start date. Are you going to go for it?
For more than 30 years, a show focused on La Llorona, one of the most famous legends in Mexico, has been performed in the canals of Xochimilco. The presentation stands out for being multidisciplinary, that is, it includes dance, theater and music.
When does the La Llorona show start in Xochimilco?
This year 2024 the show is called La Llorona, Seeds of Tomorrow. According to the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City there will be performances from October 📅4 to November 17.
It will be held mainly on weekends(Friday to Sunday). In general, there will be only one performance each day; however, on October 12, 19 and 26 as well as November 9 there will be double performances, while on November 1 and 1 there will be triple performances.
The performances start at 🕛19 :00. That’s right: the show is at night. It takes place at the Tlilac Lagoon. You will enjoy a very complete presentation that includes contemporary music and chants in Nahuatl, as well as pre-Hispanic dance.
Don’t worry about transportation because you will be taken by trajinera to the Tlilac Lagoon. Just keep in mind that the show lasts an hour and the transfer takes an hour and a half (round trip), so be sure to plan ahead. The meeting point is 📍embarcadero de Cuemanco (Blvd Adolfo Ruíz Cortinez, Cuemanco).
