October’s Night of Museums is about to begin! Many of the venues participating in this edition will offer activities alluding to the Day of the Dead. This is just a taste of what you will enjoy next Wednesday, October 29.
1. Simi House Museum
For the first time Simi Casa Museo joins the Night of Museums. It debuts with an interactive monumental offering, the presentation of a choreographed performance called “El baile de los sustos” and guided tours. You can attend with your best costume!

2. Aragon Lighthouse
Do you like horror movies? This place will screen the classic film The Exorcist . We recommend you to anticipate your arrival, as space is limited to 120 people.

3. Sentimientos de la Nación Legislative Museum
This precinct will celebrate the Day of the Dead with live music and the unveiling of an ofrenda called “From the palace to the cemetery”. Consider that space is limited to 40 people, with prior registration in this QR code.

4. Xavier Villaurrutia Cultural Center
“Flores, cuentos y calaveras” (Flowers, stories and skulls) is an event not to be missed during the Night of Museums in October. There will be an unveiling of the ofrenda, comparsa, storytelling and a concert by La China Escobar. You can also participate in a marigold rally. Please note that space is limited to 50 people and no prior registration is required.

5. Franz Mayer Museum
The Franz will surprise you with “Baile surreal”, an event that mixes the traditions of the Day of the Dead with the inauguration of its new exhibition Surreal. Rodney Smith. There will be dance with comparsa, music by Dj Princesa Duende, guided tours and more. Consider that the dress code is black and white, although you can also wear your best catrin or catrina costume.

6. Indios Verdes Lighthouse
This venue joins the October Museum Night program with a presentation called “El jardín de los alebrijes” (The Alebrijes’ Garden). It is an immersive staging that combines narration, live music and dance. The seating capacity is 60 people and no prior registration is essential.

7. Tequila and Mezcal Museum
Mezcal and pan de muerto? Believe it or not, this is a delicious combination. Discover it in a pairing session guided by chef Antonio López. At the end of the activity, you can enjoy food and drinks at the museum (additional cost). Register your attendance in this QR code.

8. UNAM Museum Today
Get ready for the “Gran Baile de Calaveras” at this Centro Histórico museum! In addition to a dance performance, there will be literary activations called “Escribiendo del más allá” (Writing from beyond). Space is limited to 50 people and you need to register by email (museounamhoy@gmail.com).

It’s time to connect with your spiritual side! This Museum Night you can visit this immersive experience where you will visit eight sanctuaries in Mexico, such as the monarch butterfly sanctuary. This exhibition by artist Pepe Soho that will make you feel part of nature.

10. Torre del Reloj Gallery
This venue will celebrate autumn with a concert presented by the Miguel Hidalgo Youth Orchestra. The exhibition Rivers of Color by artist Jung Hungsung will also be inaugurated. Space is limited to 100 people, so you must register your attendance by WhatsApp at 55 5406 3118.

12. Chapultepec Castle
This Wednesday of the Night of Museums, the Chapultepec Castle joins the celebration with several special activities. The main one will be the opera show El hombre que no respetó el Día de Muertos, presented by soloists from the Compañía Nacional de Ópera Mexicana Canto del Alma.
Space is limited to 250 people and registration is not required, so we recommend you arrive early. Before the concert, you will also be able to join guided tours or an archaeology talk.

13. Xico Senado
The Xico Senado presents a very special free concert. It is a tribute to the Divo de Juárez and the Prince of Song by the band Morfeo, who will perform the beloved songs of these idols in rock version. Admission is free, but we recommend you anticipate your arrival, as the capacity is 200 people and no prior registration is required. Prepare your throat to sing El Triste y Querida!
