1. La Oaxaquita
An authentic Oaxacan food restaurant. In La Oaxaquita you will eat the most representative dishes of this state such as: tlayudas, tasajos, chapulines, pan de yema and mole. This kitchen is located in an old house on Guerrero Street; the decoration alludes to the neighborhood and Mexican traditions, making it a nice and cozy place where you will want to drink chela and eat delicious food; we love that they welcome you with peanuts. 2. Moctezuma’s plume
One of the canteens with the longest tradition in CDMX is the Penacho de Moctezuma. It is a restaurant bar with a family atmosphere where, while you eat or have a drink, you will enjoy live music. We love the beef sabanita that is served with handmade tortillas and a spicy salsa.

One of the legendary places in this neighborhood: Guerrero’s machetes. This antojería is a must for those who are passing through and one of the must-see (and reliable) for the locals. Here they serve giant quesadillas, better known as ” quesadillas “machetes“. Meat, minced meat, steak or up to three stews. This Grenache is the perfect dish for those who have a very good tooth or are very hungry. In addition to great taste, you will find very affordable prices; machetes cost between 80 and 90 pesos.

4. La Corcholata
Among the most popular restaurants in the Guerrero neighborhood of CDMX is La Corcholata. This taqueria has been operating since 1983, a guarantee of experience and flavor in the art of the taco. The name of this site is a tribute to the actress Carmen Salinas for her endearing character in the movie Bellas de noche. The favorites are the suadero, although there are pastor, longaniza, steak and more. The ones you must try are the ones with beef jerky or the special ones with meat cheese.

5. Las Brisas Cafeteria
One of our favorite places, without a doubt, is Cafeteria Las Brisas. At any time of the day, it is a reliable place to have breakfast or lunch in the Guerreo neighborhood. In the morning you will find sweet bread and classic dishes such as eggs to taste, chilaquiles or sopes. Every time we visit this place we do not miss the opportunity to try the lechero; it is a delight and a treat to start the day. Later on, you’ll find food runs that change every day.

6. Amparito’s machetes
Colonia Guerrero is popular for its versatility in terms of garnachas and delicious dining options. Amparito’s machetes were born in this neighborhood; the flavor, tradition and success of this site has led to the opening of other branches in Mexico City. The machetes of this site measure 70 centimeters! The size is not the only thing that surprises diners, but the sensational seasoning of these giant quesadillas that are filled with stews. This restaurant was born in 1964 and, since then, has conquered Mexicans and foreigners alike. Today, this site is managed by Amparo Montoya or “Amparito”.

7. The only one in Guerrero
For 90 years, La única de la Guerrero has welcomed diners looking to eat well and have a drink. A neighborhood taqueria that has been delighting the locals since time immemorial. 10. Moctezuma’s pozole
This list of the best restaurants in the Guerreo of CDMX could not end without mentioning El Pozole de Moctezuma. This pozolería is one of the most beloved in the city, having been in operation since 1947. This is a family business that offers Guerrero-style pozole. It was founded by Doña Balbina and her family currently maintains its culinary legacy. The dining room of this pozolería has hosted great political figures, even former presidents! Also, wrestlers, actors, journalists and businessmen such as Carlos Slim. And no one can say no to a Verde pozole or a tongue taco from this place. Not to be missed is the traditional dessert “huevo estrellado” (starry egg).
