Set aside next Sunday, November 2. Right on the Day of the Dead there will be a walk with xoloitzcuintles in the Historic Center of Mexico City. We bring you all the details.
Undoubtedly, one of the most representative figures of Day of the Dead is the xoloitzcuintle, a dog that, it was believed, guided people’s souls to the Mictlan.
As part of the Day of the Dead activities in CDMX, there will be a Walk to Mictlán, where several xoloitzcuintles will participate. It will take place on Sunday, November 2.
Where will the walk with xoloitzcuintles from the Historic Center take place?
This event, organized by the Centro Histórico Authority and the Club Canófilo Mexicano del Xoloitzcuintle, will take place at 12:00 noon. The walk will start at the Torre Latinoamericana and will end at Plaza Seminario.
The walk will take place on Madero Street. To participate it is necessary to register in advance on this website, where you must write down your name, age and contact information.
You must also specify how many dogs you will bring to the walk. It is important to point out that the dog must be on a leash or a lead at all times. The idea is that mainly xoloitzcuintles participate; however, other dogs can also participate.
Once the tour is over there will be talks at 2:00 pm about this breed of dog. Close the Day of the Dead festivities knowing more about the xoloitzcuintles.
And while you’re in the Historic Center, be sure to visit the festival of ofrendas and catrinas, which will be held from October 28 to November 3.
