During the Day of the Dead, tradition is also lived with creativity. That’s why the Chapultepec ofrenda contest is here for you to show your talent and imagination and win incredible prizes.
With your ofrenda you will pay tribute to great national composers that we carry in our memories and who left their mark on Mexican culture. Go make your sketches because this competition will be amazing and open to the public. If you haven’t registered yet, don’t worry because the dates have been extended.
How to participate in the Chapultepec ofrenda contest?
Imagine having your creation exposed to the eyes of the whole city! With this contest it will be possible. Chapultepec invites collectives, artists, students and the general public to participate in this contest. Unique and authentic Ofrendas will be part of the Day of the Dead celebration this 2025.
To participate, you will have to send your proposal to ofrendas.chapultepec@gmail.com, with the title with which you decide to name your project and other information that you can check directly on the social networks of the Bosque de Chapultepec.
This year’s theme will be about Mexican composers. Which talented musicians would you like to honor on these dates? Think of the ones that inspire you the most and let your creativity flow.
A committee will be in charge of evaluating each of the ofrendas and 40 will be selected to be exhibited in the Paseo de los Compositores, located in the Second Section of the Area of Environmental Value. You will be able to see them on November 1 and 2. From the finalist offerings, three winners will be chosen on November 1 during a public exhibition.
This competition invites the people of the capital to merge the best of the season’s tradition with the care of the planet, so the materials allowed will be biodegradable or recyclable, so we can protect the forest.

Here’s what you could win if you are a winner
Since creativity is also rewarded, the contest committee will choose three winners. First place will get to have an overnight picnic at the fabulous audiorama for 30 people.
Meanwhile, second place will have an exclusive tour of the incredible Chapultepec Castle collection with delicious catering for 10 people.
Third place will win a meal for six at LagoAlgo and up to $6,000. As you can see, all the prizes will not only celebrate the creative participants, but you could also have the opportunity to party with your friends.
