The pollution and hustle and bustle (combined with a bit of craziness) of the CDMX has caused us to be in constant search of quiet, tree-filled places. Dos Aguas Park has all this. It is a forest in the State of Mexico where you will breathe fresh air and spend a fun weekend, you can get there by truck from Zaragoza!
This place awaits you with a lot of attractions. There are games for children, horseback riding, as well as extreme activities such as zip-lining, suspension bridge and rappel. One of the favorite plans is hiking; don’t forget to wear non-skid shoes to avoid any risk.
If you want to extend your visit you can rent a cabin or camp. Please note that the entrance fee to the park is $50, although the price may vary depending on the time of year you visit.
How to get to Dos Aguas Park by public transportation from Mexico City
This site is located in San Rafael, Tlalmanalco de Velázquez in the State of Mexico. If you travel by car, leaving from the capital’s Zócalo, it could take you 1.30 hours to get there. You can also do it by public transportation.
First, you have to go to the Zaragoza Metro station. When you get out, walk to the stop called Metro Zaragoza Cuatro Árboles and take the San Rafael, Tlamanalco, Miraflores unit. Get off on the San Rafael road and take a 15 minute walk to the park. Be careful, it will take you up to 2.5 hours to get to your destination.
About Cascada de los Diamantes
One of the biggest attractions is Cascada de los Diamantes. You will witness a beautiful fall that, with the help of the sun’s rays, seems to sprout little sparkles. To get there you have to hike for about 2.5 hours.
Remember that there are ups and downs, cobblestones and wooded areas, so it is not recommended for children and older adults. However, getting to this paradise is worth it. The best months to visit are June, July and August.
Although you can set out on your own, we recommend joining an excursion with specialists. This way you will avoid getting lost along the way and find the best route. Hi’Kin and Mountain Life Mx are some of the companies that organize expeditions to this waterfall.
If you want to do something different and escape (even for a little while) from the city, Dos Aguas Park awaits you at the foot of the Iztaccihuatl volcano.
