1. Emerald Forest

We start the list with one of the sanctuaries located in Amecameca: the Emerald Forest. Until August 3 you will be able to see fireflies. The tour starts at 🕛 17:00 and ends at 22:30, don’t forget to follow the recommendations of the specialists!
The entrance fee is 💵 $300 per person; adults with INAPAM and children from 6 to 12 years old pay $150. 2. Sanctuary of the Fireflies in Puebla.

In Puebla you can also see fireflies, especially at 📍 rancho Los Ciervos de Santa Rita Tlahuapan that will have tours until August 2. Access has a cost of💵 $230 per person; it includes guided sighting, storytelling and snack.

3. Tierra Aventura Sanctuary

One of the unmissable experiences to see fireflies near CDMX is the one organized by Tierra Aventura. Sighting season will be until August 17. An expert guide will tell you more about these insects and the forest.
The cost per person is 💵 $300; children from 4 to 10 years old pay $200. This access includes homemade bread and tea, as well as parking and restrooms. Remember to show up at 🕛17:00 hours; the experience ends at 22:00.

4. Rancho La Mesa

5. Canto del Bosque

Take a trip to Canto del Bosque, in Tlaxcala, to live a luminous experience. Here you will hike to meet fireflies that make nature shine. The tour has a cost of 💵 $400 per person; it starts at 🕛 18:30 although it is recommended that you arrive an hour in advance.
A specialized guide will tell you about these insects; the tour ends at 21:00 and you have until August 10 to join. If you prefer, you can spend the night at the camp, in the cabins or glamping. Please note that pets are not allowed and the tours are for children from 5 years old.
