When the scent of the cempasúchil arrives, it means only one thing: it’s time to set up the ofrenda! Altars are not only set up in the house, but there are also very cool displays all over the city. One of them is the one at Papalote Museo del Niño called Ofrenda del Futuro (Offering of the Future). Let us tell you what it’s all about.
The installation is located in the museum’s esplanade. Escorted by two colorful skulls, the offering is dedicated to eight endemic species of Mexico that are in danger of extinction:
🐝 Melipona bee.
🦋 Monarch butterfly
💮 White nun orchid
🍄 Fly swatter mushroom
🐯 Jaguar
🐢 Olive Ridley Turtle
🐬 Vaquita porpoise
🐡 Ajolote
Get your camera ready and get your best pose ready, every corner is very special and perfect for taking pictures. Also, there is a Mexicráneo piece that is interactive, so you can go inside and touch it. 💀
La Ofrenda del Futuro is located in the esplanade of the Papalote Museo del Niño, so you don’t have to pay to see it. It should be noted that this installation is in addition to the Day of the Dead activities that this precinct prepared.
And this 2024 there will be a festival with workshops and allusive activations. It will be from 📅 October 31 to November 2, and kids who go in costume will receive a discount on their ticket!
Organize your agenda and get ready to commemorate the Day of the Dead. Papalote Museo del Niño is located at 📍Constituyentes 268, Bosque de Chapultepec II Sección, Miguel Hidalgo.
