It’s time to put our agenda in order! We will tell you about the marches, processions and parades for Day of the Dead in CDMX that will take place this 2024. There are several, so make a note of the date and organize your visit well.
The best thing is that all Day of the Dead parades in CDMX are free. Just make sure you arrive early to get a good spot because there are usually a lot of people.
1. Day of the Dead Parade
One of the most anticipated events of the Day of the Dead season is this parade. The Government of Oaxaca announced through a statement that the entity will participate in this year’s event, which will be held on Saturday, November 2. However, CDMX Government has not confirmed this date; so we still have to wait a little bit more.

2. Mega Catrina Procession
The Day of the Dead parade and the Mega Catrinas Procession are two different events. In this procession hundreds of catrines and catrinas will parade from Paseo de la Reforma to the Zócalo of the CDMX. You will see several contingents with unique themes. The idea of the event is to reinforce the traditions of Day of the Dead.

3. Zombie March
Run because they are coming! Hundreds of zombies will walk through the Historic Center of Mexico City. Get your best costume ready so you can also participate. It is worth mentioning that this is an event with a cause; so don’t forget to bring a kilo of beans, rice or non-perishable food to donate. This is one of the Day of the Dead parades in CDMX that you can’t miss.

4. Monumental Alebrijes Parade
This parade is not properly Day of the Dead; however, it always happens during this time of the year so we can’t leave it out. During the parade you will see huge alebrijes made by artisans and artists from all over the country. After the event the alebrijes will be displayed on Paseo de la Reforma.

5. Day of the Dead night walk
Already have your costume ready? In addition to parades we will have a couple of Day of the Dead night walks. The first one will take place on October 26 and is organized by the Mexico City Government. It will have an extension of 20 km and you will be able to enjoy different activities, such as concerts and contests.

6. Halloween Bike Ride
This night ride is organized by Paseo de Todos Mexico City, a citizen initiative that organizes rides on the last Thursday of every month. This time the theme will be according to the Day of the Dead. The best part is that it will be held on October 31, right on Halloween.
