In August 2026, we’ll see a partial lunar eclipse throughout Mexico. It will be visible to the naked eye (as long as it isn’t cloudy). According to the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics (INAOE), the eclipse will begin at 7:25 p.m. on August 27 and end at 1:02 a.m. on August 28. It will reach its peak at 10:14 p.m.

“The Universe of José José” is a new exhibition where you’ll not only see items from a private collection but also come across costumes, albums, and even a hologram of the “Prince of Song.” The exhibition is accompanied by other activities, such as Saturday concerts at Parque de la China and a tour in Azcapotzalco called “La nave del olvido” (The Ship of Oblivion).
Let the kids know! This summer break will bring a new edition of the International Children’s Film Festival, featuring 9 feature films, 61 short films, and 3 documentaries. The event will include 26 guest countries, such as Chile, Norway, and Canada.
The 2026 Nopal Fair will take place August 28–30 at the Monument to the Revolution, featuring culinary activities, workshops, and a concert lineup that kicks off on Friday, August 28, at 3:00 p.m. Highlights include performances by Grupo Niche and Los Llayras, who will close out the event on Sunday. Additionally, a Juan Gabriel impersonator will perform on Friday. It’s one of the August events you won’t want to miss.

It’s a very interactive exhibition, so we recommend arriving early to enjoy it to the fullest.
This event will feature creative activities, crafts, and photo opportunities inspired by Rapunzel, Moana, Cinderella, and Ariel. Please note that admission is subject to availability, so be sure to arrive early since registration takes place on-site.
Among the August 2026 activities in Mexico City is the Cinépolis Festival. From August 24 to 28, you’ll find promotions at participating theaters across the country. On Saturday, the 29th, the city will be filled with zombies and dance moves during a massive tribute to “Thriller” at the Monument to the Revolution, organized by the Yo Sí Bailo Michael Jackson community. There will be free rehearsals on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. at Banca Jackson through August 23.
This Snoopy-themed experience is about to end! It’s located at Perisur and is designed for children between 70 cm and 1.45 m tall. Admission costs 150 MXN, and sessions last 30 minutes. There are slides, a ball pit, and more. Kids can even explore Snoopy’s house.
The Gustavo A. Madero municipal district is offering free access to several swimming pools during summer vacation through the “Verano en Grande en GAM” program. The event runs from July 22 to August 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and is primarily aimed at children, though people of all ages are welcome.
