Who said there is nothing to visit at the beginning of the week. Here are some museums that are open on Mondays in CDMX. In them you will learn about everything: the history of charrería, antique toys and even the process of making tequila and mezcal.
Some of these enclosures are free. So if you get out of the office early or don’t have classes, you can take advantage and visit these places.
1. Charrería Museum
In this museum you will find all the history of the charrería, as well as unique items such as Jorge Negrete’s suit, Pancho Villa’s things and Vicente Fernández’s saddle. The museum guide will take you on a tour of the place while explaining everything you need to know about charreria. You will discover many secrets about this activity.

2. Antique Toy Museum Mexico
This museum houses all your childhood memories. You will find the largest collection of toys in the world. There are dolls, stuffed animals, action figures and many more items, which are from different eras. The best part is that it has a store where you can buy the toy you always wanted.

4. Wax Museum
What better way to start the week than by visiting the stars; well, at least their wax figures. More than 260 pieces are exhibited in this precinct; you can also take advantage of your visit and stop by the Ripley’s Museum and the Fantastic Voyage area.

5. Pulque and Pulquerías Museum
did someone say St. Monday? Just kidding (but if you want it’s not a joke). This is one of the museums open on Mondays. It is divided into different rooms, which exhibit articles allusive to pulque, the process of making it and the myths surrounding this emblematic beverage. It even has an ajolotario.

6. Tequila and Mezcal Museum
who said you can’t talk about tequila on Mondays? Through its different rooms you will learn about the process of making these beverages. The history of mariachi and the Plaza is also shown Garibaldi.

7. Palace of the School of Medicine
This museum is open every day, except holidays and during the vacations of UNAM. You will see the human body as never before, learn more about anatomy, pre-Hispanic medicine, herbal medicine and much more. The ticket is free, just show an ID.

8. Mexican Museum of Design
The place where everything related to design comes together. Since its creation, it has sought to be a space to promote graphic and industrial design, as well as to expose its history in our country. It has a terrace with a good view of the Historic Center.

9. Estanquillo Museum
After Carlos Monsiváis decided to publicly share his collection, this museum was founded. Drawings, engravings, photographs, paintings and even models are exhibited. It was inaugurated in 2006.
One of the areas you must visit is the terrace. In addition to the beautiful view, you can enjoy the activities that usually take place there.

10. National Watercolor Museum
Here you will find art everywhere. It is considered the first museum to focus entirely on watercolor. Its objective is to conserve, disseminate and develop this art. Both the galleries and the gardens are not to be missed.

11. Chancellery Museum

It not only exhibits the historical and artistic heritage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also the cultural image of the country and promotes the creators of contemporary art.
