1. Digital Culture Center
Right under the Estela de Luz you’ll find this space where works, exhibitions and shows related to the internet, multimedia and technology are displayed. You’ll see exhibits made with audiovisual elements, lighting and sound design. There is also a program with cultural activities.

2. Museum of the Site
Located in the Bosque de Chapultepec, this CDMX museum pieces that tell the history of the forest, as well as its flora, fauna and cultural elements. There are paintings, photographs, plans, among other pieces.

3. Charrería Museum
In this museum you will learn all about the history of charrería, from its beginnings to the present day. A guide will tell you all about the museum, as well as curiosities and unmissable facts about this discipline. You will see costumes, saddles and countless articles. The best part is that admission is free.

4. San Fernando Pantheon Museum
This museum is unique in its kind, as it used to be a pantheon. In addition to seeing funerary architecture and learning more about the history of Mexico City, you can enjoy its activities and temporary exhibitions.
They even show movies on occasion. Keep an eye out for their events, which they post on social networks.

5. Estanquillo Museum
It opened its doors in 2006 with the objective of sharing the collection of Carlos Monsiváis, which is made up of more than 20 thousand pieces, including documents, models, photographs, paintings and more. It has temporary exhibitions, workshops and various activities.

6. Stellar Museum
Did you know that in Mexico City there is a museum dedicated to Star Wars? It has different rooms where you will see vintage figures, statues, busts, light sabers and ships. Admission is free; however, you must make a reservation in advance through their website.

7. Museum of Medicine
The Palace Museum of the School of Medicine will take you to learn all about the human body. You will find the anatomy room, herbalism and even pre-Hispanic medicine. You will be surprised with everything you will see and learn.

8. Soumaya Museum
This is a space full of art. It exhibits Mexican and European works of art, such as works from Italian, Flemish, Dutch, German, French and Spanish schools. Regarding Mexican art you will see creations by various artists such as Arrieta, Bustos and Velasco. Open every day.

9. Railroad Museum
This museum will take you to another era when the railroads were at their peak. You will learn about the history of this means of transportation and different machines. The museum is located in an emblematic place: what used to be the Villa station. Every month they have new activities ranging from readings to dance.

10. Photography Archive Museum
This museum is located in what used to be part of the “Mayorazgo Nava Chávez” house. It was inaugurated in 2006 and maintains the decoration of the original facade. It seeks to disseminate visual culture through exhibitions, concerts, workshops and other activities. It also has an enormous photographic collection of millions of pieces.

11. National Museum of World Cultures
Want to learn all about our planet? You can start with this museum which houses about 14 thousand objects from all over the world. It offers an excellent approach to other cultures through art, archaeological pieces and other items.

12. Telegraph Museum

13. Jumex Museum
In this precinct you will see permanent and temporary exhibitions focused on contemporary art. Since 2013 this museum has been promoting projects by Mexican and foreign artists. 14. Banco de México Museum
Learn more about money, exchange and its role in society. In this precinct you will see temporary exhibits and some permanent ones such as the Banco de México Room with interactive pieces or the numismatic collection.
The most visited area is the vault, located in the basement of the building. Please note that you must register in advance to visit it. Also, you have to reserve your access through the official website of the Banco de México Museum.

15. Cartography Museum
In a building from 1686 you will discover the first artifacts for the development and study of cartography, so get ready for a trip back in time. And no doubt you will be amazed by the maps of Mexico City since the Viceroyalty.

16. Los Pinos Cultural Complex
This space is open to the public so that they can visit its gardens, tour its buildings and take part in different cultural activities. It also hosts temporary exhibitions on music, film, journalism and other disciplines. To learn more about the program, we recommend you visit its Facebook page.

17. National Biodiversity Pavilion
In the list of museums with free admission in CDMX could not miss this precinct of the UNAM. It is an interactive space with six permanent halls. It has samples of vertebrates such as fish, reptiles and amphibians, birds and mammals. In addition, there is a collection of wood.
It has two laboratories: Genomic Sequencing and Molecular Biology. And, on the lower level, there are artistic pieces of the Soumaya Museum related to the animal kingdom.

18. Yancuic Museum
One of the most impressive things about this precinct that opened its doors in February 2024 is the giant jaguar that welcomes you.
It is a huge building, with several levels, which houses two educational stations and four thematic rooms, two of which are immersive. Inside you will also find garden areas, food, scientific and interactive activities.
Its theme is environmental, as its permanent exhibition will teach you about climate change and biodiversity in a very fun way.

19. Ocho Barrios de Ixtapalapa Community Museum.
From Iztapalapa to the world! Los Ángeles Azules now shine in the new Iztapalapa museum, which opened its doors on April 10, 2024. Its mission is to exalt the traditions and culture of the original communities of that mayor’s office, including music.
Because the creators of “El listón de tu pelo” began with the music of local dances, but then came the great opportunity. Their story and that of other groups awaits you here.
