Mexico City would have it all if it were closer to the sea, so we could escape for a little while from the hustle and bustle of the urban routine. However, all is not lost and here we leave you a list of places to swim near the CDMX and at the same time save money.
Whether you want to escape during Easter, summer or a long weekend, these places are perfect for a couple of days of fun in the sun. Take note.
1. The Hammocks
Get your bathing suit ready because in Cuetzalan del Progreso, in Puebla, there are some waterfalls that promise fun and freshness. The Hamacas are natural pools where you will connect with the landscape and experience a moment of relaxation. In the surrounding area, and on weekends, there are dining options.

2. Los Ahuehuetes
Puebla hides a wonderful place to spend the weekend: Los Ahuehuetes. It is a spa with water slides, barbecue grills and even a camping area.
Among its main attractions is the crystal clear water and, yes, you can go swimming. Please note that food and beverages are not always sold, so we recommend you go prepared.

3. Los Cascabeles
Still looking for places to swim near CDMX? Get your sunglasses ready, because it’s time to apply your swimming lessons. Los Cascabeles is a rustic spa in the state of Morelos where you will completely disconnect; it has pools of water to refresh yourself.
Please note that there is no lodging nearby, although you can camp, but be aware that it is often difficult to get here. The easiest way to get here is to head towards Amacuazac, then Alpuyeca and finally to Higuerón on the road to Jojutla in the direction of Huixastla.

4. Ex-Hacienda de Temixco
With little ones at home? The Ex-Hacienda de Temixco will be your favorite swimming spot. This space has the architecture of an old hacienda combined with a water park.
Here you can enjoy slides, more than 20 children’s pools, a wave pool, a river with waves and a food area to recover energy. Boredom is not an option!

5. Grutas de Tolantongo
The pictures do not do justice to the place, and is that in the Grutas de Tolantongo you can visit the river, different pools, thermal pools, a suspension bridge, waterfalls, a tunnel and, of course, caves. You have to know that the water of the natural pools comes from a spring that exceeds 36ºC.
This space also has a zip line, camping area in case you want to spend the night and parking area, open 365 days a year! Please note that animals are not allowed.

6. Geyser of Tecozautla
This list of places to swim would not be complete without El Géiser Spa. As its name suggests, it is a natural geyser that comes from a volcanic vent located in Tecozautla, a magical town in Hidalgo. Its hot springs are ideal for relaxing and having fun at the same time.
It is open 365 days a year and offers beauty treatments, massages, a la carte food, free parking, barbecue grills, tent rentals and much more.

7. Hot springs of Chignahuapan
This site has been opening its doors for more than 85 years and is a water park with hot water pools. At Aguas termales de Chignahuapan you will find water slides, private, family and outdoor pools, a spa, lodging and a restaurant.

8. Las Estacas
Looking for crystal clear waters? Las Estacas is an excellent option among the places to swim near CDMX. Here you will find a river where you can swim, ride with your favorite inflatable, dive or even kayak.
Among its attractions is the “Borbollón” where 648 million liters of water are born daily. This place is a little more than 10 thousand years old and the best thing is that you can jump into it if you are very brave.
This space full of vegetation will make you connect with nature and is perfect to visit with family, friends or couple. They have cabins, camping area, barbecue area and more. It is worth noting that it is slightly over budget, however, it is still a wonderful option.
