This flower is also grown in the Tlalpan district. Especially in the towns of San Andrés Totoltepec and Magdalena Petlacalco. Producers in these regions offer the marigold to large markets such as Jamaica. They also call on neighbors to consume local products; there are bouquets and pots from $13. 4. La Magdalena Contreras
If you want to buy marigolds directly from producers in Mexico City, the Magdalena Contreras district is a good option.
And here you will find beautiful nurseries and planting grounds. One of them is “Vivero Los Abuelos” where, every year, they produce and sell marigolds to commemorate the Day of the Dead. This year, they will also be selling altar decorations, food and even pulque. 🏵️

5. Valley of Catrinas in Atlixco
Take a trip to Atlixco, in Puebla, and get to know the cempasúchil fields. Here you will find the classic orange flower and also magenta-colored marigolds. Be sure to go as soon as possible, since the flowers are harvested during the last days of October.
You should know that this municipality is one of those that go all out during the Day of the Dead. In fact, this year 2024 they organized the Valley of Monumental Catrinas, a tour of giant catrinas. In this edition the pieces are inspired by historical characters of Mexico. 💀
