1. The Trout Forest
This is an ecotourism complex located in San Miguel Regla, perfect for a family weekend! And here there are plenty of attractions such as spa, boat rides, zip line, gotcha, fishing, horseback riding, sky biking and much more.
If you want to stay overnight, you’ll be happy to know that there are cabins and camping areas. And what about eating? There are restaurants and grills so you can prepare whatever you’re craving.

2. Tula Archaeological Zone
This is one of the places in Hidalgo to visit at least once in a lifetime. This was one of the largest cities in the Central Highlands of Mesoamerica; today you can appreciate the monuments and buildings of ancient societies.
You will see the Burnt Palace, the Wall of the Serpents and the iconic Building of the Atlanteans, among other constructions.

3. Tolantongo Caves
This is one of Hidalgo’s representative destinations, the perfect place for those who enjoy swimming in hot springs. In addition to a dip, you can stay or camp, as well as go hiking. Don’t think twice and get your bathing suit!

4. El Rehilete Museum
Children will be the happiest to visit Hidalgo, especially if they love dinosaurs. This is an interactive museum where they can learn about art, technology and astronomy.
It has a planetarium, as well as an observatory. Among the most attractive areas is the Dinopark, a tour where you will see 40 life-size dinosaur figures.

5. Pastes Dificultad
If you didn’t eat pastes, did you really go to Hidalgo? This is one of the representative preparations of this region, so you must try at least one. Pastes Dificultad is a great place to do so; you’ll find sweet and savory fillings that you can accompany with a café de olla or a hot chocolate.

6. Paste Museum
And speaking of pastes… visit this gastronomic museum! Here you will learn about the English origin of this recipe and how it came to the state of Hidalgo to become a representative dish of the region. It has a children’s area and even a cafeteria where you can try them.

7. Asteroid B611

8. Huasca de Ocampo
This magical town is one of the most visited and there are a lot of attractions and activities in this place. For example, the Chapel of Our Lady of Loreto, the Museum of the Goblins or the Basaltic Prisms.

9. Museum of Miniatures
A medieval adventure full of dragons awaits you at the Museum of Miniatures! This space presents a display of dioramas; each model has a different theme such as Mexican legends, musical bands and iconic divas.
