That’s why we made a list of the best restaurants in CDMX that will pamper you with their good taste, quality ingredients and beautiful spaces. Take note.
1. Andamiro
We start the list with one of our most recent discoveries: Andamiro. It is a korean food restaurant which opened its doors in November 2023 and soon won us over with its BBQ and grilled recipes. Among our favorites is the spicy fried noodle.
Admittedly, it is a nice restaurant and elegant; it has a terrace that during the night is a spectacle thanks to the illumination. The best, and most surprising, is that it has affordable prices and promotions on drinks. The average check, per person, is $400.

2. Tokoya
If you love the sushi as much as we do, then you will love visiting Tokoya. It is a nigiri bar run by chef Luis Enrique Ortega, who has established himself as a master in the handling of fish and the preparation of japanese food.
This restaurant, located inside the Presidente InterContinental in CDMX, is also a sepeakeasy. Yes, a bizarre location and a secret door will lead you to a dining room with a seductive vibe. You must go to the hotel bar and there you will be guided to Tokoya.

3. Havre 77
Among the best French restaurants in CDMX is Havre 77. It is a Parisian proposal by chef Eduardo García; the kitchen is headed by chef Gerardo Ramos.
An elegant dining room where the design, architecture and taste will make you travel to France is set up in a large house in Juarez. Not to be missed are the others and the tarte tatin for dessert, what a delight!

4. CANA
One of the newest restaurants in the CDMX: CANA. After gaining experience for 10 years in the best New York and Mexican kitchens, chef Fabiola Escobosa (the driving force behind this project) returns to Mexico to delight us with her recipes, techniques and seasoning.
CANA is a place of Parisian spirit and design. On the menu you will find classics of international cuisine with an innovative and succulent touch: beef tartar with wheat and cornichon, mussels in white wine, burrata and the stars of the menu: pancakes. We are delighted that on Sunday there are brunch all day long.

5. Máximo Bistrot
Among the best (and favorite) restaurants in CDMX is Máximo Bistrot by chefs Eduardo García and Gabriela López. Since 2011 it has captivated those who enjoy eating delicious food with quality ingredients. Fresh ingredients are used here, so the menu changes every day according to seasonal products.
At Maximo your visits will always be a surprise. In the menu you will find the essence of Spanish, French, Japanese, Italian and Mexican cuisine. To drink: teas infusions, kombuchas, mezcals, craft beers and a select list of German, French, Mexican and Australian wines, among other international labels.

6. Somsaa
The traditional (and also the most delicious) dishes of Asian gastronomy are at Somsaa. This restaurant, headed by chef Somsri Raksamran, features dishes from China vietnam, Singapore, among others.
Located in the Roma neighborhood, this site features a concept of tea house where you will taste infusions made with ingredients from Asia. The place is perfect to surprise or celebrate a special moment; you will love its beautiful rooms, dining room and champagne. Don’t leave without trying the chili crab, a blue crab with Singaporean sauce.

7. Carmela and Sal
A contemporary Mexican food restaurant will win you over. Chef Gabriela Ruíz Lugo, originally from Comalcalco in Tabasco, promotes a gastronomic center that pays homage to the food of our country and has become one of the best restaurants in the CDMX.
The table is adorned with classic recipes and antojitos that are combined with fine dning; tacos cannelloni, cannelloni of cochinita pibil and the favorite: sope de chicharrón pressed and octopus. Each dish that arrives at the table is a poem that the chef addresses to the diner.

8. Barra California Sur
Oyster paradise does exist: Barra California Sur. It is a restaurant in Santa María la Ribera where you will taste the delights of the Pacific. The team is part of Bendito Mar, a community dedicated to the artisanal and sustainable cultivation of bivalve mollusks.
This project is promoted by Fishing Industry Seafood Mexico, a brand that promotes the gastronomy of Baja California. This place is casual and very relaxed; ideal for brunching or hangover cure. Favorite dish is the clam coqueta (chocolata with cubes of catch of the day, mixed sauces and mayo siracha). Please never disappear!
Take into account that on Saturdays and Sundays the embers are the ones that rule. The clams and oysters are prepared on the grill with a mixture of cheeses and sauces that you won’t want to miss. There are also fish tacos a la carving.

9. Galanga Thai House
If we are talking about great Thai food, Galanga Thai House is the restaurant that tops the list. This place is driven by chef Somsri Raksamran, who has a faithful commitment to represent the gastronomy of the region where she was born.
You will be delighted with a select menu of traditional Southeast Asian dishes. Visiting Galanga is a journey of flavors and culture. The flavors of Baja California in the heart of Mexico City. Chef Jair Tellez developed the Merotoro project, a restaurant that was born 13 years ago and welcomes diners in a cozy and relaxed lounge that does not neglect elegance.
You should know that the menu is constantly changing; it all depends on the seasonal fish and the freshness of the ingredients. The emblematic dish: pork jaw with poached egg. Although the recipe receives some modifications, it is a dish that is always on the menu.

14. Common Corner
We love places that are out of everyone’s sight and Esquina Común is one of them. This is a secret dining room that reveals the location a day before your visit. Please note that reservations are required to attend.
Upon arrival you will be surprised by a beautiful terrace which has no fixed menu. The dishes are based on seasonal ingredients and the inspiration of the person who prepares them. This is how you will be surprised with new recipes every time you visit. Here you will also find a varied menu of Mexican and international wines, as well as cocktails.

15. Corn Expendio de Maiz
A place that pays homage to “yellow gold”. Expendio de Maíz is a restaurant that practices and promotes corn research and gastronomy around this product. Take into account that they do not have a fixed menu; the dishes they offer are based on fresh ingredients that they get in the market.
It should be noted that 80% of the ingredients used are organic, endemic or wild. This restaurant is informal; the design is inspired by traditional kitchens where the comal is the star of the house.

In the courtyard of an old neighborhood you will enjoy emblematic Oaxacan dishes such as: tlayudas, entomatadas, tasajo and enmoladas. The tejate is not to be missed.
In addition to excellent flavor and quality, this site offers affordable prices. It should be noted that the ingredients used are from Oaxaca, in fact, every Thursday they receive fresh ingredients.
